The Way, The Truth, The Life

With Summer vacations right around the corner, I figured I would give you a break! Even though this week’s message was focused on John 14:6, before you get started on Jesus’ words, there is another question I think you need to consider. Before you begin to look at these questions, please prayerfully consider any new insights you may have gained from this message.

1. What is your immediate response to the word “change”? Is it a positive or negative response? How do you deal with changes in your life or the lives of others? What does the Bible teach us about handling change? Read/study Genesis 50:20, Malachi 3:6, Isaiah41:10, Proverbs 3:5-6, II Corinthians 5:17, and Romans 12:2. (Pastor Barry has spoken about this extensively over the past few weeks, so for many of you this is a “review”.)

2. In this week’s message, I mentioned that the passage of Scripture the sermon was based on (John 14:1-6) were some of Jesus’ final words to His disciples, and all who would follow Him. Consider some of the final words that have been shared with you by a loved one who has passed? What (if anything) was memorable about their last thoughts?

3. This seven “I AM” statements of Jesus are unique to the Gospel According to John. Why do you think the writer of this Gospel is the only person who emphasizes these statements? What are the other six “I AM “statements? (I already gave you a hint of where to find them!) Read/study these other statements in light of this morning’s message- do they mean more to your understanding now?

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK!!
